Fwd: Inkling, etextbook app

Inkling makes deals for e-textbooks with key publishers

While many companies are talking about making the iPad the platform for electronic textbooks, one San Francisco startup appears to be moving boldly into making the dream a reality.

MyTourGuide.com

Hi all, here's an iPhone app I chanced upon today. It's called MyTourGuide, and works in conjunction with the mytourguide.com web site. The app is for virtual tours, but the creative thing about the service is that you can build your own tours, and either sell them or offer them for free on the web site. Seems like this would be a great project for the students to do, in any context.

I discovered it through an article about a professor at VCU, who is using it as part of his course content.

ipad (and kindle, and laptop, etc) bags

My friend Joe had one of these really cool iPad bags with him when I saw him over Christmas and I wanted one for my Kindle, but they didn't make them at the time. They just emailed me to let me know that they now have a Kindle line as well. Thought I'd share with you, as many of these iPad cases and bags are pretty awesome.

Time Warner iPad app

Hi all, for you cable viewers, Time Warner just came out with their free iPad app. Allows you to view a certain number of channels right on your iPad. You must be at home on your network, but still a pretty cool tool.

Personalized iPad Magazine Zite Learns As You Read, Challenges Flipboard

For those of you who like news readers, like Early Edition, Flipboard, and Pulse, you might like this new app. It's a news reader that learns from you, what you like to read. As you continue to use the app, it recognizes your interests and feeds you similar topics from other news sources. I'm going to give it a try, and compare with Early Edition, my current personal favorite.
